Residing on the historic Finger Wharf in Woolloomooloo, China Doll is an award-winning restaurant delivering the ultimate Sydney dining experience to guests.

 

Showcasing premium and ethically sourced produce, the menu presents a modern take on culinary traditions from China, Hong Kong, Japan and South East Asia. With generous portions and bold flavours, dishes are perfect for sharing with family, friends or colleagues be it a casual lunch or dinner or special event.

At the helm of the kitchen is head chef Frank Shek, who began his culinary career at the age of six working in his family’s Chinese restaurant in Scotland. Frank quickly developed a taste for the excitement and fast-pace of the kitchen, developing a strong work ethic and refining intricate techniques handed down through the generations of his Cantonese family.

 

Frank has worked at China Doll since its inception and has comprised a dynamic team of chefs from all across Asia, including Korea, Indonesia, Nepal, China, Bangladesh, Macau, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Taiwan and Vietnam. The menu reflects and celebrates the many flavours and cooking styles of the East.

 

Frank has made a number of appearances on television, such as The Morning Show (Channel 7), MasterChef (Channel 10) and a Food Safari (SBS).

Functions

With its stunning location on Woolloomooloo’s historic finger wharf, China Doll is the perfect venue for a milestone birthday celebration, engagement party or corporate event.

 

Groups of 10 or more guests are required to select one of three banquet menu options. The menus are designed to share and are priced at $72, $88 or $105 per person. All dietary requirements can be accommodated for with advance notice.

 

Larger groups are required to pre-select wines to have available. We do not offer BYO or beverage packages.

 

A 10% discretionary service charge applies to the total bill for all group bookings.

Groups of 10-60 guests can be accommodated in the main dining area. Guests can request inside or outside seating at the time of booking. Table requests are not guaranteed and are allocated as fairly as possible in accordance to booking date and floor logistics. We have rectangle table settings with a maximum of 16 guests on one long table.

 

Private Dining | The Mezzanine

The Mezzanine is an L shaped dining space on the second floor of the restaurant. There are floor to ceiling windows overlooking Woolloomooloo wharf. The room accommodates up to 40 guests seated and 50 guests standing for a cocktail function. There is a minimum spend of $4500 for exclusive use of this space and a 10% service charge applies in addition to the final bill.

 

Semi-Private Dining | The Vase Room

The Vase Room is located on the wharf level of the restaurant. It is an indoor space that opens up on to the wharf and main dining area. The room accommodates up to 40 guests seated. There is a minimum spend of $4500 for exclusive use of this space and a 10% service charge applies in addition to the spend.

Children are welcome, however we do not have high chairs. If you require space for a pram or wish to bring in a high chair, please let us know and we can happily accommodate with prior notice.

 

Preferred seating is not guaranteed. All allocations are dependent on reservation date, weather conditions and number of guests. Priority is given to those who book in advance. We will not disclose table allocations prior to arrival, however will contact you if we have major concerns with weather.
